Our mission is to show every camper that they are enough, and to nurture behaviors that will inspire confidence, responsibility, and a brighter future."

A world where all children, regardless of their economic or cultural background, have access to the opportunities and support needed to pursue their dreams.With over 30 years of experience working with youth, Camp City Moon has been empowering at-risk and underserved children by providing them with experiences they never thought were possible.We understand that exposure to opportunities outside the classroom—such as sleepaway camp—can be just as impactful as traditional academic learning. These experiences help build confidence, creativity, and resilience.Today, Camp City Moon continues to build on its legacy with a year-round calendar of programs, including summer camps, school-year retreats, and daily after-school enrichment activities. We are committed to offering youth the chance to grow, learn, and thrive, both inside and outside the classroom.

Our Programs

At Camp City Moon, we offer two dynamic programs designed to provide youth with enriching experiences beyond their everyday environment.DAY CAMPSCamp City Moon’s Day Camp offers engaging, theme-based adventures for children of all grade levels. These programs can take place at our campgrounds or within common community spaces, providing a flexible and immersive experience. Parents and caregivers can feel confident knowing their children are participating in structured activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.SLEEPAWAY CAMPSOur Sleepaway Camp allows kids to step into new environments, build friendships, and take part in exciting learning opportunities. Campers live, play, and grow together under the careful guidance of trained youth mentors, fostering independence, confidence, and a strong sense of community.At Camp City Moon, we are committed to creating unforgettable experiences that inspire, challenge, and empower every child.

About Us

Devin WrightDevin Wright, a proud Bronx native, knows firsthand the challenges faced by the students he now dedicates his life to serving. His journey from adversity to advocacy began with transformative programs like Camp Ohana, which provided him an escape from dangerous environments and helped shape him into a dedicated and compassionate leader in his community.Devin attended Cheyney University, where he cultivated his passion for empowering young minds. After college, he joined Camp Vacamas as a counselor, where his dedication and leadership skills flourished over eight years, eventually earning him the role of program coordinator.Seeking to make a deeper impact, Devin transitioned to Horizon Detention Facility, where he worked directly with at-risk youth, focusing on understanding their struggles, fostering cooperation, and supporting their rehabilitation. These experiences solidified his commitment to urban youth advocacy, a role he has excelled in for over a decade.Recognizing the need for broader support, Devin partnered with his former Camp Vacamas director, William Moon, to establish their own organization—a mission-driven company dedicated to helping urban youth thrive in their environments. Together, they aim to inspire better choices, create brighter futures, and provide the tools and opportunities for success in underserved communities.

William MoonWilliam Moon, a lifelong New York native, grew up deeply understanding the heartbreaks, struggles, and challenges faced by inner-city youth. He is a dynamic individual known for his diverse skill set and extensive knowledge in both inner-city programs and outdoor education for youth.For decades, William has dedicated his life to making a positive impact on New York City youth. He has served in many roles, working with organizations such as the New York City Department of Education, afterschool programs, and various camping organizations. Through his unwavering commitment to youth development, he has left a lasting impact on countless young lives.William’s balanced approach to education—combining inner-city initiatives with outdoor learning—enhances his goal of empowering young people. His mission is not just to lead but to foster a community that encourages collaboration, creativity, and growth. With his deep understanding of how to cultivate and empower young minds, William is committed to shaping the next generation of leaders and helping youth excel in the environments they are raised in.
